KATHMANDU: India sold more than 1 million electric vehicles in FY2025, marking a major milestone in its transition towards clean mobility according to ET.
Electric two-wheeler sales grew by 21%, while electric three-wheelers saw a 57% rise during the fiscal year. Electric passenger vehicle sales nearly doubled, growing by 80%. The electric commercial vehicle (e-CV) segment posted the highest growth, rising 122.5% year-on-year.
The growth has positioned India among the fastest-growing EV markets in the world.
The automobile industry is seen to be shifting rapidly from internal combustion engines to sustainable alternatives, reflecting both domestic demand and global ambitions.
