KATHMANDU: Kia is expanding its global product portfolio with eight new and updated models as it looks to achieve a global sales target of 3.35 million vehicles in 2026. The South Korean automaker sold a record 3.14 million units worldwide in 2025 and plans to strengthen its position with a mix of electric vehicles, SUVs, passenger cars and performance models.
Rather than introducing eight all-new vehicles next year, Kia’s strategy includes the global rollout of recently unveiled models, updated versions of existing vehicles and new variants across key international markets.
- Kia EV2
The EV2 will become Kia’s entry-level electric SUV when it enters production in 2026. Built on the E-GMP platform, it will be offered with 42.2 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, delivering a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 448 km. The model is aimed primarily at Europe and selected international markets.
- Kia EV3 GT
Kia is expanding its performance EV lineup with the EV3 GT. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive electric crossover produces 288 hp and is expected to reach additional global markets following its official unveiling.
- Kia EV4 GT
The EV4 GT joins Kia’s growing GT family with the same 288 hp output. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in approximately 5.6 seconds, making it the fastest among Kia’s new GT electric models.
- Kia EV5 GT
The larger EV5 GT delivers 301 hp through a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The performance SUV has already been unveiled and will gradually expand into more international markets.
- Kia K4 Sportswagon
Kia has added the K4 Sportswagon to its passenger car lineup. Positioned as a more practical alternative to the K4 sedan and hatchback, the wagon will be offered with 1.0-liter and 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engines producing up to 177 hp. A hybrid variant is also planned.
- Kia Niro Facelift
The updated Niro features Kia’s latest design language, a redesigned cabin and dual 12.3-inch digital displays. The crossover will continue with a 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain in several markets, while plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions will no longer be offered in the United States.
- Second-Generation Kia Seltos
The second-generation Seltos has already debuted in several markets and will continue its global rollout in 2026. The redesigned SUV adopts styling inspired by the larger Telluride and will also receive a hybrid all-wheel-drive variant. Kia is also preparing to introduce the new Seltos in Europe for the first time.
- Kia XCeed Facelift
The XCeed has received its second major facelift for the European market. Updates include revised exterior styling, suspension improvements, refreshed interior materials and mild-hybrid petrol powertrains, while the plug-in hybrid version has been discontinued.
More products in development
Beyond these eight models, Kia is preparing several future products to support its long-term growth strategy. These include the next-generation Sportage, expected to debut in 2027 with the new Pleos infotainment system, the production version of the Vision Meta Gran Turismo electric sports sedan, and the entry-level EV1 hatchback, which is expected to become the brand’s most affordable dedicated electric vehicle.
The expanded lineup reflects Kia’s strategy of maintaining a balanced portfolio of electric, hybrid and conventional powertrains while strengthening its presence across global markets.
