KATHMANDU: Lions Club of Kathmandu Thali has donated 400 magic lights to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police.
Club President Rupak Simkhada handed over the lights to Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Chief Senior Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari during a program held on Monday.
The club said the lights were provided to support vehicle management during night hours and to help improve road safety.
Most traffic management tools in the Kathmandu Valley were damaged during the Gen Z movement on September 8, leaving several essential systems destroyed.
The Valley Traffic Police Office said that office buildings, equipment, and even uniforms of traffic personnel were damaged during the movement.
Officials added that reconstruction work has now started with support from citizens. They said new approaches are being adopted to manage traffic more effectively.
The traffic police chief said the use of magic lights would help ease night-time vehicle management and bring positive support to ongoing recovery efforts.
