KATHMANDU: The all-electric Mahindra XEV 9e has won the Green Car Award at the India Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2026.
The Green Car Award recognizes vehicles with strong environmental performance, energy efficiency, and zero-emission technology. The ICOTY jury selected the XEV 9e for its overall score in the Green Car category.
The XEV 9e is built on Mahindra’s born-electric INGLO platform. It offers a dedicated EV architecture with zero tailpipe emissions. The model uses an efficient battery system with regenerative braking to maximize range.
The award also highlights the use of sustainable and recycled materials inside the cabin.
The ICOTY jury includes leading automotive journalists from India. The XEV 9e competed against electric models from brands such as BMW, BYD, Hyundai, Kia, MG, Tata, and Tesla.
