KATHMANDU: The competition in Nepal’s electric hatchback segment is set to intensify at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, which will be held at Bhrikutimandap from August 11 to 16. As automakers prepare for the festive buying season, several new models are scheduled to make their debut.
Among the most anticipated launches are the Arcfox T1 and the Chery QQ3. Both compact electric hatchbacks are expected to compete in the same segment and are likely to attract buyers looking for an affordable urban EV.
Based on reviews and specifications available in the Chinese market, the Chery QQ3 is positioned as a value-for-money electric hatchback, while the Arcfox T1 targets buyers seeking a more premium offering. This makes the rivalry between the two models one of the highlights of this year’s mobility expo.
What they have in common
Both models use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology and support DC fast charging. They are also expected to offer similar real-world driving performance.
The two hatchbacks come with large infotainment displays measuring over 15 inches, AI voice assistance, and modern designs aimed at younger buyers.
Their expected prices in Nepal are also likely to be close, putting them in direct competition within the compact EV hatchback segment.

Size comparison
The biggest difference is in their dimensions.
The Arcfox T1 is the larger vehicle, measuring 4,337 mm in length. The Chery QQ3 is 4,195 mm long.
The Arcfox is also wider at 1,860 mm, compared to 1,811 mm for the Chery. It has a longer 2,770 mm wheelbase, while the QQ3 offers a 2,700 mm wheelbase.
The Chery QQ3 is only slightly taller, by around 1 mm.

Battery and motor
The battery and motor specifications are also very close.
The Chery QQ3 is expected to feature a 41.3 kWh battery paired with a 90 kW electric motor. The Arcfox T1 is expected to arrive with a 42.3 kWh battery and a 95 kW motor.
Under Nepali driving conditions, both hatchbacks are expected to deliver a practical driving range of around 300 to 350 km on a full charge.
With similar battery technology, comparable range, and competitive pricing, the Arcfox T1 and Chery QQ3 are expected to emerge as two of the strongest rivals in Nepal’s growing compact EV hatchback market.
