KATHMANDU: Karan Chaudhary, Chairman of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal , has urged the government to increase the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio for vehicle financing.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 17th NADA Auto Show 2025 at Bhrikuti Mandap on Tuesday, Chaudhary said the upcoming monetary policy review should address this issue.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel.
Chaudhary stressed that the automobile industry directly provides employment to nearly one million people and called for measures that would help restore business confidence.
He added that the auto show serves not only as a display platform but also as a hub for trade and business opportunities.
He welcomed the government’s introduction of Euro 5 and 6 emission standards for vehicle imports but requested a reasonable adjustment period for businesses to adapt to the new rules.
