KATHMANDU: The Nagdhunga-Naubise road section, the main entry point to the Kathmandu Valley, will be closed for 4.5 hours daily to facilitate construction work.

The road will be closed from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm every day between May 24 and June 8, according to officials from the Nagdhunga-Naubise-Muglin Road Expansion Project.

Previously, construction work on this road section was carried out by closing the road at night.

Officials said it was necessary to close the road during the daytime for the expansion of the Nagdhunga-Pipla stretch.

According to a notice issued by the project, vehicles heading out of Kathmandu will be stopped at Nagdhunga, while those coming from Naubise will be halted at Khanikhola.

The project office has requested road users to use alternative routes such as the Dharke–Sitapaila or Tokha–Chhahare–Trishuli–Galchhi roads during this period.
