KATHMANDU: The next-generation Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing in India. This is the first time the car has been seen on Indian roads after it was spied in Europe in August.
The test car was heavily camouflaged, making it hard to spot the design changes. However, earlier spy shots from Rushlane suggest that the new i20 will feature a redesigned front fascia. The updates are expected to include horizontal LED headlamps with DRLs, a new grille and redesigned bumpers.
The hatchback is also likely to get a shark fin antenna, new two-tone alloy wheels, and sleeker ORVMs. Inside, the car might feature a curved display with dual screens, a 360-degree camera and an ADAS suite.
Globally, the next-gen i20 is expected to be offered with petrol and mild-hybrid petrol engines. There are also rumors that a pure-electric version is in development.
For India, Hyundai might continue offering the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines. The same model is also likely to be launched in Nepal.
