KATHMANDU: Chinese automobile major Chery showcased the Omoda 3 crossover at its recent Omoda/Jaecoo dealer conference in China.

The car targets young buyers with its bold, futuristic design. Positioned to rival models like the Kia EV3 and MG 4, the Omoda-3 boasts sharp, angular styling, a fully digital dashboard and a large portrait touchscreen. Unique features like “Starship” sound effects and Nintendo Switch connectivity enhance its youthful appeal.

Measuring 4,420 mm in length, the Omoda 3 is slightly longer than the Omoda E5 and is built on Chery’s T1X platform. It will be available in electric, plug-in hybrid, and petrol variants.

Chery plans to launch the Omoda 3 globally in October 2025, with deliveries expected to begin from late 2025 or early 2026.

Chery’s brands like Omoda and Jaeeco have witnessed considerable success in Nepal, with nearly 900 units of Omoda E5 and Jaeeco J6 imported in the first year of launch. The Omoda E5, popular for its modern design, 61 kWh battery and 430 km range, is well-suited for Nepal’s roads.

SPG Automobiles has expanded its service network across the country to provide better after-sales service to Omoda/Jaecoo customers.

The Omoda/Jaecoo lineup in Nepal will soon include the Jaecoo V23 and J5, which were showcased at the 2025 Auto Shanghai. The addition of Omoda 3 after its global launch will further strengthen Chery’s foothold in the Nepali market.
