KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport’s meeting decided to resume public transport nationwide after it was halted on September 9 due to the Gen Z protests.
The meeting was held at Singha Durbar today under the chairmanship of Secretary Keshav Kumar Sharma. Services in the Kathmandu Valley had already resumed yesterday.
Saroj Sitaula, Senior Vice President of the National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs, said the meeting also approved the operation of freight vehicles.
The Department of Transport Management formed a committee, led by Director General Rajiv Pokharel, to start advance ticket booking for passengers traveling home during Dashain.
The committee will soon meet with stakeholders to decide the date to open advance bookings.
