KATHMANDU: SRM electric vehicles have crossed the 1,111-unit sales milestone in Nepal. VG Motors, the authorized importer and distributor of SRM vehicles, has now set a long-term target of putting 10,000 SRM vehicles on Nepali roads.

VG Motors started its SRM journey in Nepal in August 2023. The company said the latest milestone reflects growing demand for electric commercial vehicles in passenger transport, school and institutional mobility, goods delivery and small businesses.

The company is now focusing on expanding its after-sales service and customer support network. VG Motors has more than 30 service touchpoints across Nepal and supports a charging network of over 100 stations.

It has also trained more than 1,500 mechanics across 40 districts and instructors from over 50 driving institutes on EV technology and safety.

SRM vehicles sold in Nepal are equipped with CATL batteries. The company offers battery warranty coverage of up to six years or 360,000 km, subject to applicable terms.

VG Motors is preparing to introduce two electric trucks and an MPV in Nepal. The 1,111-unit milestone was celebrated at an event in Kathmandu attended by SRM representatives, VG Motors officials, customers, brand ambassador and business partners.

Himalayan White House International College was recognized as the 1,000th SRM buyer.

VG Motors said it will continue investing in charging infrastructure, service facilities, technical training, spare parts and customer support as it works toward its 10,000-unit target.
