Tata launches Harrier EV in two battery options

KATHMANDU: Tata Motors has officially launched the much-anticipated Harrier EV in India, with prices starting at 2.1 million Indian rupees.

The Harrier EV marks Tata’s entry into the premium electric SUV segment. According to the company, it combines high performance with modern design and sustainability features.

The new EV from Tata stable comes with two battery options, 65kWh and 75kWh, delivering up to 291hp and 504Nm of torque. Depending on the variant, it offers an estimated range of 500-600 kilometers on a full charge. The SUV supports DC fast charging, capable of charging from 0 to 80% in around 40 minutes. It also features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup for enhanced control and off-road capability.

The Harrier EV sports a closed-off grille, a redesigned bumper and 19-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels. It is slightly larger than its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart and is available in five attractive color options.

Once launched, Harrier will be Tata’s must premium EV offering in Nepal.

Inside, the Harrier EV delivers a premium experience with features such as a 14.53-inch Samsung Neo QLED touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and 502 liters of boot space. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control and a 10-speaker JBL sound system.

In terms of safety, the Harrier EV is equipped with seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and a 360-degree camera. It also includes advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with Level 2 features, a summon mode and support for vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging.

Sipradi Trading, the official distributor of Tata in Nepal, has been selling ICE variant of Harrier, branded as Tata H5, in the Nepali market. Since Tata’s all EV models are available in Nepal, it can be anticipated that the Harrier EV will also come to Nepal sooner or later.

Tata’s passenger car EV lineup currently available in Nepal includes Nexon, Tiago, Tigor, Express-T, Punch and Curvv. Once launched, Harrier will be Tata’s must premium EV offering in Nepal.
