KATHMANDU: The facelifted Tata Punch EV has arrived in Nepal and is expected to go on sale within the next few days. Sipradi Trading, the official distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal, has brought the updated electric SUV to the market.
The new Punch EV comes with a refreshed design, larger battery options, faster charging, and several feature upgrades. Tata has revised the front fascia, rear lighting, and interior while retaining the SUV’s compact proportions.
The biggest visual changes are at the front. The updated model gets a redesigned bumper, while the closed-off grille remains unchanged. Tata has removed the black trim that previously connected the headlights. However, the Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and the centrally positioned charging flap have been retained.
At the rear, the facelift introduces a full-width connected LED light bar, giving the SUV a more modern look.
Larger battery options
One of the biggest upgrades is the battery pack. The new Punch EV is now available with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery options, replacing the earlier 25 kWh and 35 kWh packs.
Both variants now support 65 kW DC fast charging, offering improved charging performance over the outgoing model.
In India, the 30 kWh version is offered in Smart and Smart Plus variants. The 40 kWh model is available in Smart Plus, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered Plus S trims. Sipradi Trading has not yet confirmed which variants will be offered in Nepal.
Updated interior and features
The facelift also brings subtle updates inside the cabin. The dashboard layout remains familiar, but Tata has added new trim finishes and a refreshed dual-tone color scheme.
The SUV features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. It also gets new 16-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels, similar to those seen on Tata’s larger electric SUVs.
Depending on the variant, the Punch EV offers wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, connected car technology, and a 360-degree camera.
On the safety front, the SUV comes equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Hold Assist, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat anchors, and High Beam Assist.
Sipradi Trading is expected to announce the Nepal-spec variants and pricing at the time of the official launch.
