Tata starts local assembly of Range Rover Evoque in India

KATHMANDU: Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) have started operations at their new manufacturing facility in Panapakkam, Tamil Nadu, India. The first vehicle rolled out of the plant is the Range Rover Evoque.

The new factory will produce next-generation vehicles for both Tata Motors and JLR, including electric vehicles. Production will increase in phases and is expected to reach the plant’s full annual capacity of 250,000 units within the next five to seven years.

The facility will supply vehicles for both domestic and international markets.

According to Indian media reports, Tata Motors plans to invest around USD 1.08 billion in the new manufacturing plant as part of its long-term expansion strategy.
