KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal has urged Nepali nationals residing in the United Arab Emirates to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel as tensions continue to escalate in the Middle East.

In a recent advisory, the government requested Nepali citizens in the UAE to stay vigilant, exercise caution, and strictly follow security guidelines and advisories issued by the UAE government as well as the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai. Nepalese have also been asked to limit non-essential travel and remain updated with official announcements related to the evolving regional situation.

The advisory follows rising tensions in the Middle East after joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which triggered retaliatory attacks targeting US military bases in several Gulf countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

As a result, parts of the Gulf region’s airspace have been restricted, forcing airlines to suspend or cancel flights to major regional hubs such as Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Tel Aviv, Manama, and Kuwait City.

Several international airlines have already suspended operations across the region. These include Qatar Airways, Emirates, Flydubai, and Air Arabia. Other carriers such as British Airways, Air India, IndiGo, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, and Turkish Airlines have also canceled or temporarily halted flights to several Gulf destinations.

For emergency information, advice, or assistance, Nepali nationals in the UAE have been asked to contact the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai. Authorities have urged citizens to remain alert and maintain regular contact with diplomatic missions as the situation continues to develop.
