KATHMANDU: Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal, has launched a new exchange campaign allowing customers to trade motorcycles or scooters for the Tata Tiago EV. The scheme, titled “Switch to Tiago EV,” targets two-wheeler users who are planning to upgrade to a four-wheeler.

Under the campaign, customers can exchange any brand of motorcycle or scooter and purchase a new Tiago EV with a down payment starting from Rs 499,000. The offer will run from March 13 to March 15 across Tata’s authorized showrooms nationwide.

Customers purchasing the Tiago EV under this campaign will receive additional benefits including best valuation for their existing two-wheeler, cash discounts, free accessories, and a one-year road tax waiver. The company has also announced EV ownership benefits through its network such as lifetime free DC fast charging and free home charger installation.

The Tiago EV is a family hatchback measuring 3,769 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width, and 1,526 mm in height, with a 2,400 mm wheelbase. It is available with two battery and motor configurations.

The mid-range XE variant comes with a 19.2 kWh battery paired with a 45 kW electric motor, offering a claimed range of up to 250 km on a single charge. The long-range variant features a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery with a 49 kW motor and offers a claimed driving range of up to 315 km.

The electric hatchback supports DC fast charging and can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 57 minutes. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.7 seconds and offers City and Sport drive modes along with four levels of regenerative braking.

In terms of features, the Tiago EV includes Tata’s G-Connect system with more than 45 connected features, a 7-inch Harman infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and an eight-speaker audio system.

Other features include leatherette seats, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, electric ORVMs, cruise control, a cooled glovebox, and push-button start/stop. The vehicle comes with an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.
