KATHMANDU: After driving the iCaur V23 for more than 3,900 km in two months, here is a clear ownership experience. The vehicle was purchased by MeroAuto and taken on multiple long and short trips.

Right after delivery, the SUV was driven from Kathmandu to Ghandruk. Later, it covered seven districts in Madhesh and reached Udayapur in Koshi Province during election travel. It was also tested on the damaged BP Highway via Sindhuli. All trips were done with four passengers, each averaging around 75 kg.

In daily city use, the car had already crossed around 3,500 km. A recent trip to Pokhara was used to create a detailed driving review video.

Range, power, and design

The iCaur V23 easily delivers over 300 km range in real-world conditions. It comes with a 59.93 kWh LFP battery supplied by CATL.

It features a rear-wheel-drive setup with a 100 kW electric motor. The motor produces 180 Nm torque, which feels slightly low for its power output.

Only fast charging has been used so far. With a 60 kW DC charger, the car takes up to 58 kW. When connected to a 120 kW charger, it pulls around 80 kW.

The SUV offers comfortable seats and a large steering wheel. It rides on 19-inch wheels and has easy cabin access. The boxy body and retro-style front design are also key highlights.

Where it falls short

There are no rear AC vents, which affects passenger comfort. Cabin storage space is limited. The absence of a proper instrument cluster also feels like a drawback. It also misses a wireless charger.

Some of these issues are being addressed. The instrument cluster has already been added in this unit. A wireless charger can also be installed if needed. Other limitations are balanced by its pricing.

SPG Automobiles is selling the iCaur V23 at Rs 4.999 million. At this price, it stands as a competitive option in its segment.
