KATHMANDU: Yamaha has officially launched the Aerox-E electric scooter in India at an introductory price of 282,000 Indian rupees (ex-showroom).
Visually, the Aerox-E retains the same sporty design as the petrol-powered Aerox. It features dual LED headlamps, a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, and four riding modes: Eco, Standard, Power, and Boost for quick acceleration during overtaking.
Power comes from a 9.5 kW electric motor producing 48 Nm of peak torque. The scooter is equipped with dual removable 1.5 kWh battery packs, delivering a claimed 117 km IDC-certified range on a full charge.
The Aerox-E also carries over the suspension setup from the ICE version, featuring telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear.
