KATHMANDU: Audi’s all-electric A2 E-Tron has been spotted testing in Europe with minimal camouflage, offering the clearest look yet at the brand’s upcoming entry-level EV. The production model is expected to make its global debut later this year as a 2027 model.
Reviving the iconic A2 nameplate, the new model will be offered exclusively as an electric vehicle and is expected to share its Volkswagen Group MEB platform with the upcoming Volkswagen ID.3 Neo.
The latest prototype wears an E-Tron-themed wrap that reveals key design details, including flush door handles, a split rear spoiler, prominent wheel arches, and a tall hatchback-like profile inspired by the original A2. It also features Audi’s signature split-headlamp design and rides on 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels.
Audi has not revealed technical specifications, but the A2 E-Tron is expected to use the same battery and powertrain options as the ID.3 Neo. That includes 50 kWh, 58 kWh, and 79 kWh battery packs, with outputs ranging from 168 hp to 228 hp and a maximum WLTP range of up to 630 km.
The A2 E-Tron is expected to be priced above the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo but below the Audi Q4 E-Tron, making it Audi’s new entry-level electric model in Europe. Official specifications and pricing are expected to be announced later this year.
