KATHMANDU: The Yamaha XSR 155 has received a strong response in Nepal. The motorcycle, officially introduced at NADA Auto Show 2026 by Yamaha’s authorized distributor MAW Rides, attracted 428 bookings during the six-day event.
Yamaha also won the Best Stall Award at NADA Auto Show 2026. The award recognized the brand’s concept, presentation and overall experience offered to visitors.
The Yamaha stall put the XSR 155 at the center of its display. The motorcycle attracted visitors with its modern-retro design, featuring a classic teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round LED headlamp and distinctive road presence.
Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts visited the stall to see the XSR 155 up close during the show.
At the motorcycle’s launch, MAW Group Chairman and Managing Director Bishnu Kumar Agrawal spoke about Yamaha’s long-standing connection with riders. He also highlighted the brand’s global Faster Sons philosophy.
Faster Sons combines Yamaha’s motorcycle heritage with modern design and technology. The concept draws inspiration from iconic motorcycles of the past while developing bikes for the needs of modern riders.

“Today, we are welcoming a new motorcycle, but more importantly, we are continuing a legacy,” Agrawal said.
He said motorcycles are increasingly becoming more than a means of transportation for Nepali riders. They have also become a way to express identity, personality and lifestyle.
The XSR 155 was also available for special pre-booking during the launch period. The pre-booking gave early customers an opportunity to secure one of the first XSR 155 units to arrive in Nepal.
The strong bookings at NADA, along with the interest shown during the pre-booking period, indicate strong demand for the XSR 155 even before its regular sales begin.
