DAMAULI: Blacktopping work is underway in the Damauli market area of the Muglin-Pokhara section of the Prithvi Highway.
According to Engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey of the Eastern Section of the Muglin-Pokhara Road Expansion Project, blacktopping is currently being carried out on the stretch from the Bagbazaar area of Byas-2 through Main Chowk and Safa Sadak Chowk up to the vegetable market. Pandey said that they aim to complete the blacktopping of the Damauli stretch of the road section within the current fiscal year, which ends in mid-July.
On Thursday, one side of the road at Main Chowk was blacktopped, while blacktopping in the Bagbazaar area was completed on Wednesday. Similarly, blacktopping from Durga Temple to Chapaghat is also scheduled to begin soon, according to Pandey.
Earlier, blacktopping on different stretches of the eastern section was delayed due to a delay in the removal of structures along the road’s right-of-way. Now, only four kilometers remain to be blacktopped.
So far, 82.95% of the work under the eastern section has been completed.
