KATHMANDU: BMW has released a festive teaser that hints at a new model debuting on December 24, sparking speculation about what the brand plans to unveil before the year ends.

The clip, shown as part of a holiday campaign, features an advent calendar displaying several BMW electric models; the iX1 xDrive30, iX2 xDrive30, i4 M50 xDrive, i5 M60 xDrive Touring, and i7 xDrive60. All are EVs, suggesting the mystery vehicle will also be fully electric.

A shadowy silhouette appears in the video, and its proportions resemble a crossover, prompting expectations that BMW may be preparing to show its next iX3 variant. Recent spy shots of the iX3 M60 reveal upgrades such as a sport-tuned suspension, larger brakes, and revised design elements.

Other possibilities include the long-teased new i3, which BMW has been previewing for months, or an early look at the upcoming iX5, set to debut next year.

Even so, the most likely candidate remains another version of the iX3. When BMW introduced the iX3 50 xDrive in September, the company confirmed that “further fully electric variants will follow,” including a rear-wheel-drive model. The holiday teaser may be BMW’s subtle signal that the next reveal is close.
