KATHMANDU: A Chinese businessman has arrived in Nepal to explore the country, driving a luxurious Porsche 718 Boxster.
He drove the high-performance German sports car all the way to Rasuwagadhi along Nepal-China border. He then loaded the car into a truck and transported it to Kathmandu because of bad mountain roads.
According to sources, the businessman plans to stay in Nepal for a year and brought his own car to travel during his extended visit. He is expected to visit popular destinations including Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini.
The Porsche 718 Boxster is a coupe-style sports car equipped with a 1,988cc, 3995cc and 3997cc petrol engine option that delivers up to 300 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 96.5 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 km/h. The car is priced at around $74,900 in the international market.
This isn’t the first time a Porsche has made headlines in Nepal. Arete International earlier imported the Porsche Macan 4 electric SUV for sale in the country.
