Ford launches electric Bronco in China with massive 105 kWh battery

KATHMANDU: US automobile giant Ford has unveiled its first-ever electric SUV in China – the Bronco EV.

The new model comes with a massive 105.4 kWh battery pack in its pure EV version, which, according to the company, delivers an impressive 650 kilometers of range on a single charge.

In addition to the full-electric variant, Ford has also launched an extended-range hybrid version of the Bronco. This model combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a 43.7 kWh battery, providing a combined driving range of up to 1,220 kilometers when using both battery and a full tank of fuel.

Measuring 5,025 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,825 mm in height, the lifestyle off-roader is one of the largest SUVs in its class. True to the Bronco’s rugged DNA, the vehicle features a rear-mounted spare tire on the tailgate.

Ford has equipped the SUV with a wide range of modern features, including LIDAR sensors on the roof and more than 30 sensors and cameras across the vehicle.

Pre-orders for the electric Bronco began at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show.
