KATHMANDU: Competition in Nepal’s dual-purpose adventure motorcycle segment is getting stronger after CG Motors started selling the new Hero Xpulse 210. The motorcycle is set to compete directly with the CFMOTO 250 Dual in terms of design, performance, features, and pricing.
Both motorcycles are designed for daily commuting as well as off-road riding. Here is a comparison between the Hero Xpulse 210 and CFMOTO 250 Dual.
Brand and market presence
CFMOTO has been gaining popularity in Nepal as a premium Chinese motorcycle brand. The success of models like the 450MT has helped strengthen its image among adventure riders. CFMOTO motorcycles are distributed in Nepal by Rishi Trade Center.
Hero, an Indian motorcycle brand, has a long presence in the Nepali market. The brand has built customer trust through a wide service network across the country. Hero motorcycles are distributed by CG Motors in Nepal.

Design and off-road capability
Both motorcycles belong to the dual-purpose adventure segment. They are designed for both off-road trails and everyday city riding.
The Xpulse 210 and 250 Dual come with features like high ground clearance, upright handlebars, wire-spoke wheels, dual-purpose tires, and long-travel suspension.
The Xpulse 210 gets a front windscreen, which helps reduce wind pressure during long rides. The CFMOTO 250 Dual follows a more off-road-focused naked adventure design.
Engine and performance
The Hero Xpulse 210 comes with a 210cc single-cylinder, DOHC, four-valve, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected BS6 engine. It produces 24.6 PS of power and 20.7 Nm of torque.
The CFMOTO 250 Dual gets a 249cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve Euro 5 engine. It produces 24.4 PS of power and 22.5 Nm of torque.
Both motorcycles are equipped with a 6-speed gearbox.
Although both bikes offer similar power, the CFMOTO 250 Dual produces higher torque, which can provide an advantage on uphill roads, rough trails, and while carrying extra load.

Weight and off-road performance
The CFMOTO 250 Dual weighs 154 kg and offers 245 mm of ground clearance. It has a length of 2,120 mm and a wheelbase of 1,415 mm.
The Hero Xpulse 210 weighs 170 kg with 220 mm of ground clearance. It has a length of 2,254 mm and a wheelbase of 1,446 mm.
With lower weight and higher ground clearance, the CFMOTO 250 Dual may be easier to handle on sand, mud, rocky trails, and difficult off-road conditions.
Features
Both motorcycles come with dual disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, dual-purpose tires, and wire-spoke wheels.
The Xpulse 210 gets a fully adjustable USD front fork and rear mono-shock suspension. It also features switchable ABS modes, a 4.2-inch TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation, smart connectivity, USB charging, LED lights, gear position indicator, and other technology features.
The CFMOTO 250 Dual comes with an LCD digital display, LED lights, USB charging, switchable ABS, and side stand safety switch.
In terms of features and technology, the Xpulse 210 has an advantage over the 250 Dual.

Price
The Hero Xpulse 210 is priced at Rs. 600,000 in Nepal, while the CFMOTO 250 Dual is available at Rs. 550,000.
The CFMOTO 250 Dual is Rs. 50,000 cheaper than the Xpulse 210.
Both motorcycles have their own strengths in Nepal’s adventure motorcycle market. The Xpulse 210 offers more features and newer technology, while the CFMOTO 250 Dual provides lighter weight, higher ground clearance, and better torque at a lower price. The final choice depends on the rider’s budget and riding requirements.
