KATHMANDU: Hyundai Motor has introduced the Vehicle Digital Passport, a new digital service for its Bluelink-enabled vehicles, in India.

According to the South Korean automaker, the feature creates a digital record of each car by collecting data, including telematics and service history, through the vehicle’s built-in SIM. Hyundai says this allows owners to conveniently access key information, such as service and accident history, warning alerts, warranty status and driving behavior, in one place. This service is designed to promote better vehicle maintenance and responsible driving, it added.

Bluelink, Hyundai’s connected car platform launched in 2019, already offers over 70 features, including emergency assistance, crash alerts and remote vehicle monitoring.

“Since the launch of Bluelink, over 700,000 connected Hyundai vehicles have been sold in India,” Jae Wan Ryu, head of Corporate Planning at Hyundai India, said in a statement. “This is Hyundai’s first service of its kind anywhere in the world.”

The Vehicle Digital Passport is priced at 399 Indian rupees per three months and provides a personalized seven-page report. The report is also expected to assist customers when buying or selling pre-owned Hyundai vehicles by offering a clear overview of a vehicle’s condition and history.

According to Hyundai, the launch aligns with global automotive trends, where digital tools and vehicle data are increasingly being used to enhance the customer experience.

It is not clear when or whether the service will be available to Hyundai consumers in Nepal.
