KATHMANDU: Kia is preparing to start sales of the Syros EV, a sub-four-meter electric SUV, in Nepal during the upcoming festive season. Continental Trading Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Kia in Nepal, is currently preparing for the market launch.
The company has already brought the Syros EV to Nepal and is displaying the model at different dealerships. Customers can visit Kia dealerships to experience the electric SUV before its official sales launch.
Although the official launch date has not been announced, the company has confirmed that sales will begin during the festive season. Bookings for the Syros EV were opened at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026, where the model received more than 700 bookings.
The Syros EV has an official price of Rs 3.79 million in Nepal. However, it was available at a special NAIMA offer price of Rs 3.59 million during the expo.
The Kia Syros EV is available in India with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options. In Nepal, the model will initially be offered with the 42 kWh battery pack, providing a claimed range of up to 443 km on a full charge.
The 42 kWh version is powered by an electric motor producing 171 PS. It supports up to 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 39 minutes.
The electric SUV has a claimed 197 mm ground clearance and is based on Kia’s K1 platform. The battery features liquid-cooled thermal management and carries an IP67 rating.
The Syros EV gets a closed front grille, redesigned bumper and a charging port on the front-left side. It also features Kia’s signature vertical ‘ice cube’ LED headlamps, a thick B-pillar, a distinctive C-pillar design, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and flush door handles.
At the rear, the SUV features prominent EV badging, vertically positioned L-shaped LED tail lamps and a black bumper with a triangular windscreen element, giving it a muscular appearance.
Inside, the Syros EV retains a premium cabin layout similar to the petrol-powered version. It features a 30-inch triple panoramic display setup, comprising a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 5-inch touchscreen climate control panel.
Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a shift-by-wire column shifter, paddle shifters for regenerative braking, rear AC vents, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, rear sunshades, a covered trunk and disc brakes on all four wheels.
Depending on the variant, the Syros EV comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, powered driver’s seat, Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 connected features, over-the-air software updates, wireless phone charging, smart dashcam, 360-degree camera and V2L functionality.
Safety features vary by variant and include up to six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, virtual engine sound system, 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor, side parking sensors and a Level 2 ADAS suite with 16 features.
