SHANGHAI: Shanghai: MG unveiled its new electric SUV, the Cyber X, at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show on Wednesday.
The Cyber X is the second model in MG’s Cyber series after the Cyberster.
The new SUV from the MG stable has a bold, boxy design with pop-up headlights. It features illuminated badges, wide LED light bars and dual-tone alloy wheels. Its clean look and high-riding body make it stand out among its competitors. MG, however, has not yet shared the technical details or price of the Cyber X.
MG, the iconic British brand, is currently owned by China’s SAIC Motor. The Cyber X SUV is built on SAIC’s new E3 electric platform. This platform supports a range of vehicles from compact cars to large SUVs and sports cars. It uses a Cell-to-Body (CTB) structure for enhanced efficiency and reduced weight.
The Cyber X features MG’s advanced Zebra 3.0 software, which offers improved voice control, better connectivity and semi-autonomous driving capabilities. It is equipped with Horizon Robotics’ J6 chip for better driver monitoring and navigation.
MG plans to introduce eight new electric vehicles, including SUVs, sedans and sports cars, over the next two years.
The Cyber sub-brand targets younger buyers and will initially launch in China. MG also has global plans for its Cyber models.
Given its bold design and off-road capabilities, the Cyber X could appeal to Nepal’s young, adventure-seeking drivers on the country’s rugged, hilly terrain.
Paramount Motors, which represents MG in Nepal, has already started selling Cyberster as well as other models like S5 and MG4 and the India-made Comet.
