KATHMANDU: Images of the all-new Renault Twingo have surfaced on social media ahead of its official world debut on November 6. The upcoming electric city car appears nearly identical to the heart-warming concept revealed two years ago.
The new Twingo’s design is inspired by the original model from the 1990s. It features round, horseshoe-shaped LED headlights that give it a friendly look. The front also has a small grille and vertical bumper lines, similar to the old Renault 4.
At the back, the car gets a large window and matching LED tail lights. Its overall shape remains close to the first Twingo’s one-box design.
Inside, the cabin looks simple and colorful. It has two digital screens, round climate control dials, and a large hazard light button that reminds of the original model. A yellow dashboard panel adds a bright touch to the black interior.

Renault first showed the Twingo concept in November 2023. CEO Luca de Meo promised it would go from concept to production in just two years and cost around $22,000
The new Twingo will be built on the same AmpR Small platform as the Renault 5, Renault 4, and Nissan Micra. It will use a cheaper lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, like the Citroen e-C3. The range is expected to be under 200 miles, which suits its city car purpose.

According to news reports, the Twingo will also be sold in the UK. It is likely to be one of the most affordable electric cars on the market, competing with the Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03. More details will be revealed at its official launch.
