KATHMANDU: NMB Bank has introduced a loan facility for the purchase of reconditioned electric vehicles, becoming one of the first banks in Nepal to finance used EVs.
Until now, banks and financial institutions in Nepal have largely provided loans only for new electric vehicles. With this new scheme, customers can also obtain financing to buy second-hand EVs.
The bank said the facility has been launched to make reconditioned EV ownership more affordable and accessible. It expects the initiative to expand access to four-wheeler electric vehicles in Nepal at a lower cost.
According to NMB Bank, the loan is available for both personal and commercial purchases of reconditioned EVs. Customers will also benefit from a simple and faster loan approval process.
The bank said interested customers can visit any NMB Bank branch across the country for more information about the loan facility.
