KATHMANDU: The inaugural NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo, which kicks off at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, on August 6, will see the launch of around a dozen new vehicle models.
The three-day event will have around 50 stalls, primarily showcasing four-wheeler brands.
According to Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) and participating companies, the expo will be an important platform for launching electric and fuel-powered vehicles.
Among the most anticipated launches is the introduction of two all-new SUVs from the Omoda/Jaecco brand, the Jaecco J5 and V23, by SPG Automobiles. These models are completely new to the Nepali market.
Similarly, Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG, is set to unveil the IM6 — an electric SUV made by IM Motors. According to the company, IM vehicles will be sold through MG showrooms in Nepal.
Paramount Motors will also display a new Mazda SUV during the expo.
Laxmi Premium is introducing a new brand, Forthing, with the Forthing Friday model marking its official entry into the Nepali market. Forthing is a subbrand of the Chinese automobile major Dongfeng.
Similarly, Hyundai, also under the Laxmi Group, is expected to reveal something new, although the company has not yet shared specifics.
BYD’s official distributor, Cimex Inc, is launching the Sealion 7 electric SUV. The company has already begun booking for the premium SUV.

Indian automobile giant Mahindra is unveiling its two electric SUVs, BE 6 and XUV 9e, at the expo. According to Agni Incorporated, the authorized Mahindra distributor in Nepal, both models have undergone extensive testing on Nepali roads, covering over 10,000 kilometers each.
Likewise, Shangrila Motors is showcasing the Leapmotor B10 SUV in the expo. B10 will be Leapomotor’s third offering in the Nepali market after its bigger sibling, C10, and T03 compact hatchback.
South Korean company Kia is also preparing to present its EV5 SUV at the event. Continental Trading, Kia’s official distributor, has already brought the display vehicle.
Volkswagen’s official distributor, Pooja International, is bringing the Virtus sedan to the Nepali market. The model is currently manufactured and sold in India.
Proton’s official distributor, Jagdamba Motors, is preparing to launch the eMAS 5 hatchback during the expo. The eMAS 5 is the Malaysian variant of Geely’s Galaxy E5 SUV.
Similarly, Nexon Venture Pvt Ltd is showcasing two models under its LEV (Light Electric Vehicle) brand — the LEV 05 hatchback and the LEV X, an all-wheel-drive version of the LEV 01, during the expo.
