KATHMANDU: Royal Enfield India has started testing the new Himalayan 750 adventure motorcycle. The company is conducting tests in rugged, off-road locations such as Ladakh and Khardung La Pass in India.

The new 750cc motorcycle, set to join Royal Enfield’s adventure lineup, will be the most powerful model from the company. The buzz around the new motorcycle intensified after photos of the Himalayan 750 and an electric Himalayan under testing went viral on social media.

As seen in the photos, the new adventure motorcycle is designed as a full-fledged dual-purpose tourer. It features a double disc brake setup at the front and a single disc at the rear, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless wire-spoke wheels, USD telescopic forks and a monoshock suspension setup. Additional features include a high-mounted upswept exhaust, saddlebag mount panniers and a tall windscreen.

Built on a new chassis frame, the motorcycle is expected to come with a TFT display with connectivity systems, full LED lighting setup, circular headlamp and cruise control, among other features.

Although Royal Enfield has not officially released any further details about the Himalayan 750, there are speculations that the motorcycle may feature a 750cc parallel-twin, air- and oil-cooled engine, generating 50 brake horsepower and 60 Nm of torque.
