KATHMANDU: Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) recorded its highest-ever domestic sales in 2025, selling 117,000 vehicles in India. The figure marks around 36 percent growth compared to the previous year. Total domestic and export sales reached 159,500 units.
The strong performance was supported by the success of the Group’s first sub-4-meter SUV, Kylaq. The MQB-A0-IN platform, developed especially for India, continued to be the base for all locally produced Skoda and Volkswagen models.
Exports also remained strong, with cumulative overseas shipments crossing 715,000 units. This has reinforced India’s role as a key global manufacturing hub for the Group. SAVWIPL also explored new markets in the GCC and ASEAN regions during the year.
Volkswagen maintained its lead in the premium sedan segment, with the Virtus holding a 38 percent market share. Skoda posted 107 percent growth, driven mainly by Kylaq and the return of the Octavia RS.
In the luxury segment, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche and Bentley showed steady growth. Bentley joined SAVWIPL as its sixth brand and opened dealerships in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi. The Group now has around 700 customer touchpoints across India.
SAVWIPL said it plans to introduce several new models in 2026 and further expand its network, while strengthening India’s position in its global operations.
