KATHMANDU: Bajaj Auto has expanded its electric scooter lineup with the launch of the Chetak C2501. The new model is priced at Rs 91,399 (ex-showroom, Bangalore), making it the most affordable Chetak variant to date in India.

The Chetak C2501 is positioned as an entry-level electric scooter and competes with the TVS iQube 2.2 and Hero Vida VX2 Go. It is smaller than the standard Chetak and is built on a new chassis.

In terms of design, the scooter features a round LED headlamp with an integrated LED DRL, a flat footboard, and a U-shaped LED taillight. It weighs 107 kg and offers 25 liters of under-seat storage.

The electric scooter is equipped with an LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Other features include a USB charger, hill-hold assist, Eco and Sport riding modes, and a reverse mode.

Power comes from a 2.5 kWh battery pack mounted under the rider’s feet. The battery powers a hub-mounted electric motor producing a peak output of 2.2 kW. Bajaj claims a maximum range of 113 km and a top speed of 55 km/h.

Bajaj is offering the Chetak C2501 with a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty. Availability in other markets and further rollout details are expected to be announced later.
