Super luxury electric passenger van set to launch in Nepal: what makes It special?

KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to get its first super luxury electric passenger van. The 16-seater electric van is manufactured by Maxus and will be introduced by Himalayan Motrux.

The upcoming Maxus eDELIVER 5 Passenger Van is a model developed by SAIC Motor’s Maxus brand for the European market. The van is expected to be suitable for schools, tourism businesses, corporate employee transportation and airport shuttle services.

The 16-seat electric van measures 5,250 mm in length, 1,874 mm in width and 2,180 mm in height. It comes with a 3,450 mm wheelbase, offering a spacious cabin for passengers.

The eDELIVER 5 Passenger Van comes with a 64 kWh battery pack. It offers a WLTP-certified urban driving range of up to 436 km. Under full load conditions, the van has a highway energy consumption of 23.9 kWh per 100 km, which translates to around 300 km of highway range.

The electric van supports 11 kW AC charging and 70 kW DC fast charging. It also gets battery thermal management with both heating and cooling functions.

Powering the van is a 120 kW electric motor producing 240 Nm of torque. The vehicle has a top speed of 120 km/h.

In terms of exterior features, the van gets LED headlights, halogen tail lights, front and rear fog lamps and dual sliding doors for easier passenger access.

Inside the cabin, it features a four-way adjustable steering wheel, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, two speakers and charging ports. For safety, the van is equipped with ADAS features including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keep assist.

The company has not revealed the pricing details yet. The new Maxus electric passenger van will be officially showcased at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.
