KATHMANDU: Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced plans to introduce eight new SUVs in India within the next five to six years.

The announcement was made by company president Toshihiro Suzuki during the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

Suzuki aims to regain its historic 50% market share in India, which has fallen to 38% in recent years due to increased competition. “India is Suzuki’s most important market, and we have big plans here,” said Suzuki. “We want to remain India’s top car exporter and become the leading seller of electric cars in the country.”

He added that Suzuki is focused on introducing products and technologies that meet the needs of Indian customers, ranging from entry-level models to large SUVs and MPVs.

With the addition of new SUVs, Suzuki’s product lineup in India will expand to 28 models, including hybrid, CNG, and biogas-powered vehicles.
