KATHMANDU: Tata Harrier.ev has made a strong debut in India, securing over 10,000 bookings on the very first day of availability.
Following this overwhelming response, Tata Motors has started production of the electric SUV at its Pune facility. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin across India in July 2025.
Positioned as Tata’s flagship electric SUV, the Harrier.ev enters the Indian market with two drive options: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Quad-Wheel Drive (QWD), available across five variants, including a special Stealth Edition.
Its QWD dual-motor setup offers the highest torque and fastest acceleration ever seen in an Indian SUV, built on the new acti.ev+ platform.
Notably, the Harrier.ev is India’s first electric SUV to offer a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration, designed to deliver strong off-road capability and powerful performance.
The dual-motor version combines a 155.8 hp front motor with a 234.7 hp rear motor and comes with two battery options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh.
It offers a range of first-in-world and segment-first features, including a Harman display with Samsung Neo QLED technology, immersive Dolby Atmos sound and a revolutionary 540° Surround View system that removes blind spots, even under the vehicle.
The SUV also debuts Tata’s new T.idal architecture, enabling it to operate as a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV). Key smart functions include e-Valet Auto Park Assist, Digi Access digital key and DrivePay.
Tata Motors’ Harrier.ev makes a strong entry into the premium electric SUV segment.
In Nepal, where the EV market is largely dominated by Chinese brands, the Harrier.ev holds strong potential. Its RWD and AWD options, strong off-road capability and powerful performance suit the country’s terrain and road conditions well. If launched here through Sipradi Trading, it could make a strong impact.
