KATHMANDU: Toyota has hinted at an all-electric version of its legendary Corolla sedan. The company revealed the concept during a live-stream event in Japan on Monday.
The Corolla, launched over 50 years ago, became Toyota’s most popular model and once held the title of the world’s best-selling car. It lost that crown to the Tesla Model Y in 2023 but remains a global top-seller.
In the preview, Toyota showed several new vehicles that will debut at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show. Among them was a new model carrying a large COROLLA badge at the back. The car features a closed front grille and what appears to be a charging port, suggesting it’s fully electric.

The design follows Toyota’s latest EV styling, seen in models like the updated bZ4X and 2026 CH-R Electric. It closely resembles the bZ3, a BYD-powered electric sedan that Toyota sells in China.
Toyota has not shared any details about the specifications or launch plans. The concept will be officially displayed at the Japan Mobility Show starting October 30, with media previews beginning on October 29.
