KATHMANDU: The price of Triumph’s Speed 400 motorcycle is going up.

Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the official distributor of Triumph in Nepal, has announced a price hike of Rs 10,000. The new price will take effect from September 1.

The Speed 400, which currently costs Rs 649,900, will now be priced at Rs 659,900.

This revision comes after a similar price increase in India. It is the second time the Speed 400 has seen a price change in Nepal since its launch in September last year.

At present, Triumph offers two models in Nepal — the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X.

The Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that meets Euro 5 standards. It produces 40 PS of power and 37.5 Nm of torque. The bike is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a torque-assist clutch.

It comes with features like a semi-digital instrument console, full LED lighting, ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, dual-channel ABS and an immobilizer.

The motorcycle also includes upside-down forks, a gas-charged mono-shock and a Type-C USB charging port.
