Vehicle emission tests intensified to control air pollution in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: The Department of Environment Management has been conducting regular vehicle emission tests to reduce air pollution in the Kathmandu Valley.

Working in coordination with the Valley Traffic Police Office, the department is inspecting vehicles operating through the metropolitan area.

Vehicles that fail the emission test are taken into action by the traffic police under existing regulations. Such vehicles are allowed back on the road only after necessary repairs and once they meet the required emission standards.
