KATHMANDU: Traffic Police in Kathmandu Valley have recovered and returned 65 stolen or missing two-wheelers to their owners.
The handover was done on Sunday by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navaraj Adhikari, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
The vehicles were recovered through investigations based on complaints filed by owners. Some were found with original number plates, while others had fake plates.
Among the recovered vehicles was a high-value motorcycle worth around Rs 3.5 million. The Aprilia motorcycle, registered under BA 77 PA 8848, had gone missing from Babarmahal and was later found in Kalopul.
In the current fiscal year, the traffic police have already returned 454 vehicles to their owners. A total of 2,026 complaints of missing vehicles have been registered so far.
Officials have urged vehicle owners to use safety measures such as wheel locks, chain locks, handle locks, disc locks, and alarms. They also advised avoiding parking in isolated areas.
In case of loss or theft, the public can contact the traffic police hotline 103, Nepal Police hotline 100, or visit the nearest police office to file a complaint.
