KATHMANDU: Facelift versions of the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun have been spotted testing together in India, hinting at refreshed designs and new features ahead of launch.
Both compact SUVs will get revised front and rear styling, including updated LED lighting, new grilles, and redesigned bumpers. The rear is expected to feature connected tail lamps, while new alloy wheel designs could also be introduced, according to Rushlane.
Inside, the SUVs are likely to get new upholstery, fresh interior themes, and enhanced ambient lighting. A panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS are also expected, aligning them with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara.
Both models will continue with the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. The smaller unit produces 115 hp and 178 Nm, while the larger engine delivers 150 hp and 250 Nm, paired with manual, automatic, or DSG gearboxes.
Built on the same platform under Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, the Kushaq and Taigun already hold 5-star Global NCAP ratings, and the upcoming updates aim to strengthen their appeal in the competitive compact SUV segment.
In Nepal, Skoda vehicles are distributed by MAW Group, while Volkswagen is represented by Pooja International. Both the India-manufactured Kushaq and Taigun are selling well in the local market. The facelifted versions are expected to launch in Nepal soon after their official debut in India.
