KATHMANDU: The 200cc naked sport motorcycle segment in Nepal currently offers only three options for buyers despite the growing popularity of performance-oriented street bikes among young riders.
The category is represented by models from Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor Company, and KTM, each targeting riders seeking sporty performance at a relatively accessible price point.
Among them, Bajaj’s Pulsar NS200 remains one of the most established models in the segment. Distributed in Nepal by Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the motorcycle is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine producing 24.5 PS of power and 18.7 Nm of torque. The model is available in two variants in Nepal with prices ranging from Rs 3, 93,900 to Rs 4, 51,900.

The Apache RTR 200 from TVS is another strong competitor in the category. Sold in Nepal through Jagdamba Motors, the motorcycle features a 197.75cc single-cylinder oil-cooled race-tuned fuel-injected engine that produces 20.8 PS of power and 17.25 Nm of torque. The bike is offered in two variants priced at Rs 3, 93,900 and Rs 3, 99,900, making it the most affordable option in the 200cc naked sport segment.

The KTM Duke 200 sits at the premium end of the category. Also distributed by Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the motorcycle uses a 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected engine and is known for its aggressive streetfighter design and performance-focused setup. As a fully imported model, the Duke 200 is priced significantly higher than its competitors at Rs 5, 99,900.

All three motorcycles come equipped with modern features such as LED lighting, digital instrument clusters, Bluetooth connectivity, ABS braking systems, alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and sport-oriented suspension setups. While the NS200 leads the segment in power output, the Apache RTR 200 focuses on value and features, and the Duke 200 targets buyers seeking premium branding and performance styling.
