KATHMANDU: Bajaj Auto has reintroduced the Pulsar 180 in the market after a gap of four years. The model returns with updated styling and modern features.
The Pulsar 180 was first launched in 2001. It remained popular for over two decades. However, production stopped in 2022 after stricter BS6 emission norms were enforced in India. Now, the company has brought it back with upgrades.
In India, the new Pulsar 180 is priced at 122,000 Indian rupees (ex-showroom). This makes it around 12,000 Indian rupees more expensive than the Pulsar 150.
The Pulsar 180 was also a well-known model in Nepal. It entered the market soon after its India launch. Its strong engine and sporty design made it popular among young riders.

Most Pulsar models sold in India are also available in Nepal. So, the relaunch suggests that the Pulsar 180 could arrive in Nepal soon. Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal are distributed by Hansraj Hulaschand & Company.
Features and engine
The updated Pulsar 180 gets a new headlamp and refreshed graphics. It also includes a semi-digital cluster with connectivity features.
The motorcycle comes equipped with dual disc brakes with ABS for improved safety and control. It features a full LED lighting setup, along with a USB charging port for added convenience.

The suspension system includes telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, ensuring a comfortable ride. It also gets alloy wheels with tubeless tires for better durability and performance, while the 15-liter fuel tank offers a decent range for longer journeys.
The bike is powered by a 178.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It produces 17 HP and 15 Nm of torque. Torque has increased slightly compared to the older model.
The Pulsar 180 now sits between the 150cc and 200cc models in the lineup. With updated features and familiar positioning, it aims to regain its earlier popularity.
