KATHMANDU: Porsche has unveiled the new 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, marking the first time the high-performance GT3 lineup is offered as a convertible.

The model combines track-focused engineering with open-top driving, making it a unique addition to the 911 range.

The GT3 S/C is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 502 hp. It revs up to 9,000 rpm and is paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission. Despite the added weight of the convertible structure, performance figures remain unchanged, with 0-60 mph achieved in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h.

Built using lightweight materials, the model features carbon fiber body panels, magnesium wheels, and carbon-ceramic brakes to reduce weight. It weighs around 1,507 kg, approximately 38 kg more than the GT3 Touring coupe.

The S/C borrows several components from the more track-focused Porsche 911 GT3 RS, including suspension elements, aerodynamic parts, and chassis upgrades. It also features a double wishbone front suspension setup for improved handling.

Unlike limited-run models such as the Porsche 911 S/T, the GT3 S/C will be a regular production model. It comes with a fully electric soft top that can open or close in 12 seconds.

Inside, the cabin offers a driver-focused layout with options for lightweight bucket seats or more comfort-oriented sports seats. Buyers can also choose additional storage compartments in place of rear seating.

Porsche will offer an optional ‘Street Style Package’ through its Exclusive Manufaktur division, adding unique exterior graphics, special interior trims, and retro-inspired design elements.

The 2027 911 GT3 S/C is priced at $275,350 in the US, positioning it above the GT3 coupe but below the Turbo S Cabriolet. Deliveries are expected to begin later this year.
