KATHMANDU: Bajaj Auto has reintroduced the Avenger 220 Street in the Indian market after a gap of six years.
The model was discontinued in 2020. It has now returned as part of Bajaj’s cruiser motorcycle lineup without a formal launch announcement.
The Avenger 220 Street is priced at 130,172 Indian rupees (ex-showroom, India). It joins the Avenger 160 Street and Avenger 220 Cruise, taking the total lineup to three models.
The motorcycle is available in two color options: Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red. In terms of design, it remains similar to the previous version with minor updates.
It continues with the low-slung cruiser styling. Blacked-out elements, alloy wheels, and minimal bodywork give it a slightly sportier look compared to the Avenger Cruise.
The bike gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, halogen headlight, and basic switchgear. Modern features like smartphone connectivity and full-LED lighting are not offered.
Suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a front disc and rear drum, supported by single-channel ABS.
Powering the motorcycle is a 220 cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. It produces 19 PS of power and 17.6 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
