KATHMANDU: Agni Group, the sole authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, celebrated its 35th anniversary with a notable CSR initiative.

Through its nonprofit wing, Agni Foundation, the company handed over two Mahindra XUV400 electric SUVs to the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) at an event in Budanilkantha on November 16.

The EVs will support KIOCH’s outreach programs, including school health drives, district health strengthening, and child disease screenings, benefiting thousands of children across the country.

Agni Foundation President Susan Vaidya Shrestha said the handover reflects the Group’s long-term commitment to “Rising Together” with communities. “Supporting KIOCH’s work allows us to contribute to a healthier future for children and families,” she said.

KIOCH Chairman Prof. Dr. Bhagawan Koirala emphasized the practical impact of the vehicles, noting they will directly improve logistics and accessibility for child health services.

The Mahindra XUV400 is Nepal’s first electric SUV from Mahindra, equipped with a long-range battery and advanced safety features. With a focus on sustainability, the EVs will help reduce environmental impact while enhancing service reach.

Agni Foundation has previously supported health sector infrastructure, including renovation of the PICU and NICU units at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, where it established the “Agni Wing” for parents.

KIOCH provides subsidized, comprehensive pediatric care under one roof, aiming to uplift vulnerable communities through equitable healthcare.

The anniversary initiative aligns with Agni Group’s broader social responsibility efforts in health, education, sports, and disaster recovery, underscoring its mission to create meaningful impact through collaboration and community engagement.
