KATHMANDU: STC Auto Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has introduced electric scooters from India’s EV brand Ampere Electric in the Nepali market.
The company said it has been appointed as the authorized distributor of Ampere scooters in Nepal. Ampere operates under Greaves Electric Mobility and has been producing electric two-wheelers in India for more than 17 years.
STC Auto Solution has started sales of two models in Nepal; the Ampere Magnus Neo and the Ampere Nexus.
Both scooters use Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery technology. According to the distributor, the batteries are tested under extreme temperature conditions and offer a life cycle of around 2,000 charge cycles. The battery pack comes with a warranty of up to 30,000 km or three years.
The scooters are built on a reinforced chassis and are equipped with suspension systems and smart technology features.
Magnus Neo
The Magnus Neo is powered by a 2.3 kW motor paired with a 2.3 kWh lithium battery pack. The company claims a riding range of up to 100 km on a single charge.
The scooter has a load capacity of 130 kg and a ground clearance of 163 mm. It also offers low, high and reverse riding modes. The price of the Magnus Neo in Nepal has been set at Rs 300,000.
Nexus
The Nexus comes with a 3.4 kW motor and a 3 kWh LFP battery pack. It offers a claimed range of up to 107 km on a single charge. The battery can be fully charged at home in around three hours and 30 minutes.
The scooter features a hub-mounted motor, five riding modes including reverse, alloy wheels, disc brakes, LED lighting, USB charging and connectivity features. The price of the Nexus in Nepal has been fixed at Rs 334,000.
