KATHMANDU: Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, has introduced an extended warranty policy that is available only to new customers purchasing BYD electric vehicles in the country.
The main highlight of the extended warranty policy is the increase in both battery and motor coverage to 10 years or 200,000 km, up from the previous 8 years (160,000 km for the battery and 150,000 km for the motor.)
This move gives BYD the longest coverage currently offered in Nepal’s EV landscape.
The warranty coverage for the entire vehicle covering components such as lights, suspension, tire pressure monitoring modules, and ball joints has been extended from 4 years or 100,000 km to 5 years or 125,000 km. Similarly, the warranty for general vehicle parts (excluding consumables and specified excluded items) has been increased to 7.5 years or 187,500 km, up from the previous 6 years or 150,000 km.
