BYD unveils Atto 2 DM-i super hybrid

KATHMANDU: BYD has introduced the Atto 2 DM-i, its first plug-in hybrid model in the Atto 2 lineup in Barcelona. The company also revealed the long-range electric Atto 2 Comfort at the same event.

The Atto 2 DM-i comes with a WLTP pure electric range of up to 90 km. When the fuel tank and battery are used together, the total driving range reaches around 1,020 km.

The cabin features a 12.8-inch touchscreen, vegan leather seats, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and practical storage spaces, including a slot for glasses and wireless charging. The boot offers 425 liters of space, which expands to 1,335 liters with the rear seats folded. It also supports Vehicle-to-Load, supplying up to 3.3 kW of power to external devices.

The hybrid system comes in two versions. The Active variant makes 122 kW. It uses a 7.8 kWh battery. It gives about 40 km EV range and around 930 km total range.

The Boost variant makes 156 kW. It uses an 18 kWh battery. It delivers up to 90 km EV range and about 1,020 km total range.

BYD says fuel consumption can be as low as 1.8 L per 100 km under WLTP standards.
